Students will explore a world where families can only have 2 children... Can 3 exist?

Every year, the students have the opportunity to participate in the national Patriot's Pen writing contest. This year's topic is: The America I Believe In.

As a cooperative unit with Ms. Shields' social studies class, the students will explore the world during the Middle Ages, participating in all grade activities and a Fair and Market. In Language Arts, students will discuss the themes of the Middle Ages through the eyes of a 12 year old boy, Crispin.

Students will explore the themes from The Outsiders, focusing on reading strategies and figurative language along the way.

Every Monday, students are given a prompt and some class time to begin responding to it. Each prompt response will be due the following Monday. Prompts can be found in student Google Drive accounts.
