Week 21

Happy TUESDAY!

Sorry I wasn't able to send this out yesterday; I was unfortunately home sick. The plague finally struck me Friday after school and knocked me off my feet all weekend. Just a friendly reminder that if your child is sick/has a fever, PLEASE do not send them to school. This is how other students and teachers get sick. They must be without a fever for 24 hours before they can return to school. Okay, PSA over :)

Last week was CRAZY with NLSW and all the activities that happened. I love NLSW, but it never ceases to exhaust me and I am always thankful for a normal week afterwards... well, as normal as it can get when SO many kids are sick including yourself.

Just a reminder that NEXT WEEK is our Box Top Collection. Please be sending in your box tops with your child. If you have the Box Tops App, it should still work and can be applied to your child's classroom as long as you are signed up via First Immanuel.

Important Dates:

  • February 10-13th - Box Top collection

  • February 13th - Box top clipping party after school/Mid quarter

  • February 14th - No school

  • February 17th - No school

  • February 18th - Student Council meeting @ 7:05 a.m.

Last Week:

6th Grade ~ Last week, the 6th graders worked on their 2019-2020 Inspirational prompt. This is the prompt that will be posted on the Inspirations website at the end of the school year. Throughout the week, the 6th graders continued to read through their decade book and fill out their Learning Log. NOTE: these books are to be finished when they come to class THIS Friday. In grammar, the students were excited to start Pattern 2 and direct objects; they also did a worksheet.

7th Grade ~ Last week, the 7th graders did NOT have a Monday Meditation because of informative speeches. The whole week was spent presenting speeches. For the first formal speeches, the students did SO well! I was so impressed! Those students that were sick last week will be finishing their speeches today. There was NO grammar last week because of speeches.

8th Grade ~ Last week, the 8th graders did NOT have a roots list/quiz because of NLSW activities. On Tuesday, the students handed in their Part 5 4 in a Row assignment and took a quiz. They also worked on their 2019-2020 Inspirational prompt. This is the prompt that will be posted on the Inspirations website at the end of the school year. On Thursday/Friday, the students read chapters 41-44 of TBT. In grammar, the 8th graders worked with negatives and did a worksheet.

Have a great week!

Grace
