Week 26

Happy Monday!

What another great weekend! Congratulations to both our boys and girls' basketball teams at State! While it wasn't necessarily the outcome the kids wanted, both consolation bracket winners is still SO awesome and we are all so proud of you! :)

Last Week:

6th Grade ~ Last week, the 6th graders did a Monday Meditation on what super power they would want; the prompt was due today. Throughout the week, the students continued to read their literature circle book with their groups, as well as doing some accompanying activities: jobs #1 & #2 in their packet, task card #1, and a reading strategy response card. In grammar, the students continued working with pattern 1/pattern 2 and did a worksheet. NOTE: THIS Wednesday the students will be having a grammar test.

7th Grade ~ Last week, the 7th graders did a Monday Meditation on what super power they would want; the prompt was due today. The rest of the week, the 7th graders presented their demonstration speeches to their peers. They did SO well, and I am very proud of them. That was the last speech that the students did, ending our speech unit (which the students are actually sad about, crazy enough!). There was NO grammar because of speeches. HOWEVER... the advanced grammar class will be having a grammar test on unit 2 THIS Wednesday!

8th Grade ~ There were no Latin/Greek roots last week due to watching TBT movie. On Monday-Wednesday, the students watched TBT movie, as well as worked on their artistic quote journals. Journals were due FRIDAY. Thursday, the students had a grammar lesson on subject/object pronouns and did a worksheet. They also played a comprehensive Gimkit to review the plot of TBT. On Friday, the students did their VERY last TBT assignment; writing a letter to future 8th graders about TBT.

Have a great week!

Grace
